Boathouse Rewards

How your organization earns Boathouse Rewards points from everyday actions, where to see your balance, and how to redeem points for rowing gear.

Who this is for: everyone. Members earn points for their organization; whoever runs the club redeems them. Permission required: none.

Boathouse Rewards is a points program run by Boathouse Connect. When members keep their profiles up to date, attend practice and set up the organization's data, the organization earns points. Points belong to the organization, not to the individual, and can be redeemed for rowing gear or a free month of Boathouse Connect.

Boathouse Rewards is included with the Standard and Professional plans. See Pricing.

See your organization's points

  1. Go to your Dashboard. The Boathouse Rewards widget shows the points your organization has earned and the next reward it is working toward.
  2. Click View Rewards to open the Rewards page.

The Rewards page has three tabs:

Tab What it shows
Rewards Every reward and the points it costs.
Triggers The actions that earn points, how many points each is worth and how often it can be earned.
History Each time your organization earned points: the date, points, the member who triggered them and the trigger.

Your balance is the points earned minus any points already redeemed.

How points are earned

Points come from two kinds of trigger:

  • By user — actions individual members take. Each member can earn a trigger once, or once per year or quarter.
  • By organization — setup milestones that count once for the whole organization.

Triggers by user

Trigger Points Frequency How to earn it
Update rowing preferences 1 Yearly Update your rowing preferences at least once a year. See My Profile, Preferences & Notifications.
Verify emergency contact 1 Yearly Verify your emergency contact at least once a year.
Add USRowing number 1 Once Add your USRowing number to your profile. Bulk-imported numbers earn one point per account.
Attend one practice 2 Yearly Earned for each different member placed in a lineup at the start time of a practice.
Update your weight 2 Quarterly Update your weight every 3 months.

If you belong to more than one organization, the profile triggers (rowing preferences, emergency contact, USRowing number and weight) earn points for each organization you belong to.

Triggers by organization

Trigger Points Frequency How to earn it
Create first group 5 Once Create your first group and add at least one member. See Groups.
Add first stakeholder 5 Once Add your first stakeholder to a group.
Add first boat 5 Once Add your first boat to the equipment inventory. See Your inventory.
Add first set of oars 5 Once Add your first set of oars to the inventory.
Link USRowing account for waiver verification 10 Once Link the organization's USRowing account so waiver and membership status are imported. See USRowing & SafeSport compliance.

The Triggers tab in the app always has the current list.

Tip: the quickest way to build points is the yearly profile check. Ask every member to verify their emergency contact and update their rowing preferences at the start of each season.

Program rules

  • Triggers and rewards may change at any time without notice.
  • Boathouse Connect reviews points periodically and may adjust them. Points gained by abusing loopholes or other fraudulent means may be voided, and may lead to disqualification from the program.
  • Report a problem with a trigger as soon as possible. Issues raised more than 30 days after the trigger event may not be corrected.

FAQ

Do I earn points for myself? No. Points are earned by members but always go to the organization's balance.

I updated my profile but no points showed up. Yearly and quarterly triggers only pay out once in each period, and one-time triggers only once ever. Check the History tab to see when the trigger last paid out.

I don't see the Boathouse Rewards widget. The widget appears on the Dashboard for organizations on the Standard or Professional plan. Small Teams organizations can upgrade under Org Settings → Subscription; see Subscription & billing.

Who can redeem points? Requests are handled by email. Whoever runs your club should email [email protected] with the reward they want.

Where can I see how many points all clubs have earned? The public Boathouse Rewards page at /home/rewards shows the points earned and redeemed by all organizations.

Can't find what you need? Email [email protected].
