Who this is for: athletes and coxswains, plus coaches looking up a regatta before they plan it. Permission required: none to search regattas or set your own attendance. Creating a regatta planner needs Create Practices — see The regatta planner.
Boathouse Connect keeps a list of upcoming regattas from RegattaCentral, so you do not have to type in dates, venues or event schedules yourself. When your coaches create a regatta planner for one of those regattas, it shows up for you under My Regattas. That is where you say whether you are going, choose the events you would like to race, and later see your lineups and the messages your coaches send about the trip.
Search for a regatta
- Go to Regattas → Search.
- The Future Regattas table lists every upcoming regatta with its Date, Regatta Name, Type and Location. Use the table's search box to filter by name, city or venue.
- Click View Info to open the regatta's page.
The regatta page shows:
| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Date and location | The start date, venue name, city, region and country. |
| View on RegattaCentral | Opens the regatta's RegattaCentral page in a new tab, for registration, entry fees and the official schedule. |
| Events | Every event with its EventId, race Time and Event title. Times are shown in the regatta's local time zone. |
| Registered Clubs | Clubs registered for the regatta, with their logo, website link and location. |
| Previous Year's Weather | High and low temperature and wind speed recorded at the venue on the same dates last year. |
If you have the Create Practices permission you also see Create Regatta Planner on this page.
Regatta information comes from RegattaCentral. If a date, event time or venue looks wrong, check the regatta on RegattaCentral first. Boathouse Connect refreshes its regatta list from RegattaCentral every week.
Set your attendance
You only see a regatta under My Regattas once a coach has created a planner for it and allowed one of your groups to attend (or has marked you as attending directly).
- Go to Regattas → My Regattas.
- Find the regatta in the Upcoming Regattas table.
- In the Attendance column choose Attending or Not Attending. A new regatta starts as Undecided. Your choice saves as soon as you pick it.
Under the dropdown you can see:
- Spots Remaining — how many more athletes can sign up. Your club may cap the number of attendees.
- Signup Deadline — the last moment you can change your answer yourself.
When the deadline passes, or every spot is taken and you are not already attending, the dropdown is replaced with your current status and Changes are locked. After that only the people running the planner can change your attendance, so contact your coach.
If you have not answered once the deadline is less than 20 days away, Boathouse Connect sends you a reminder email with a link straight to My Regattas. In the hours before the regatta starts, athletes who are attending also get an email listing the entries they are in.
Choose the events you want to race
- On Regattas → My Regattas, click Set Interested Events next to the regatta.
- Tick every event you would like to race. Each change saves immediately.
- Click Close.
Picking an event does not enter you in it. It tells your coaches what you would like to race, and they see the number of interested athletes for each event when they build lineups.
The regatta dashboard
Click Dashboard next to a regatta on My Regattas to open its dashboard.
At the top:
- Countdown to Race day — days left until the regatta starts, then Its Race Day!! on the day itself.
- Attending Athletes — how many people from your club are going. Click it to see their names.
Below that are four tabs:
| Tab | What you will find |
|---|---|
| Announcements | Information your coaches published for the regatta — schedule, hotel, what to bring. |
| Planned Entries | Every event with the crews planned for it. Click an entry to see the boat and who sits in each seat, from coxswain and stroke to bow. |
| Communications | Regatta Messages Received — every email and text sent to the regatta's attendees. Click a message to read it. |
| USRowing | Your USRowing Membership Number, whether you have a Signed Waiver, when the waiver and your membership expire, and when Boathouse Connect last checked. |
The Communications tab can list messages that were sent before you said you were attending. It shows everything sent to the regatta's attendees, not only what reached your inbox.
Fixing your USRowing status
Most regattas require a current USRowing membership and waiver for every rower and coxswain.
- If the dashboard shows Set USRowing Number, click it and add your number on My Profile. See the New member guide.
- If the waiver or membership shows Expired or Unknown, use Renew Membership / Waiver to go to USRowing, then check back later — the status updates when Boathouse Connect next checks USRowing.
Automatic waiver and membership checks need your club to have set up the USRowing integration. See USRowing & SafeSport compliance.
FAQ
My club is going to a regatta but it is not under My Regattas. Your coaches have not created a planner for it yet, or none of your groups have been allowed to attend. Ask your coach, and check Groups → My Groups to make sure you are in the right squad.
Why can't I change my attendance? The signup deadline has passed, or the regatta is full. Ask a coach who runs the regatta planner; they can still change it for you.
I don't see myself in a lineup. Lineups are built by your coaches and can change right up to race day. If an athlete or boat does not appear in an event, it may be because of the club's minimum hot-seat time — the gap required between two races for the same person or boat.
The regatta search does not show a regatta I know about. The search only lists regattas that are on RegattaCentral and have not started yet. Past regattas you raced appear in RowStats instead.
Will I get the regatta emails if I said I was not attending? Messages sent from the regatta planner go to the athletes marked as attending.
