Practice analytics & erg scores

Report on athlete and coach attendance, record and compare erg scores, and keep your own erg history.

Who this is for: coaches and administrators who track attendance and fitness, and athletes who log their own erg pieces. Permission required: Create Practices or Set Practice Lineups for Practices → Analytics and Practices → Erg Scores; none for My Profile → Erg Scores.

Practice analytics turns your practice history into reports: who has been coming, which seats and sides they rowed, how often each coach was on the water, and what athletes said in their post-practice surveys. Erg scores give you a shared record of indoor rowing results that coaches can compare across a practice, a regatta or a group.

Attendance analytics

  1. Go to Practices → Analytics.
  2. Set the Date Range.
  3. Choose a Group, or leave All Groups.
  4. Select Generate Report.
Tab What it shows
Athlete Attendance Each Athlete Name and the number of Practices Attended.
Coach Feedback Post-practice survey answers. See Coaching notes & post-practice surveys.
Coach Attendance Each Coach and their Practice Count.

See one athlete's breakdown

  1. On Athlete Attendance, select Breakdown next to the athlete.
  2. The Lineup Breakdown for Athlete window shows a Seat Side Summary (Port, Starboard, Sculling, Coxswain, Unknown Side) and every practice attended with the Boat Assigned, Seat Assigned and Side.

Select View Profile to open the athlete's profile.

See one coach's practices

On Coach Attendance, select View Practices next to the coach to list the practices they coached.

Tip: Side counts come from the boat's rigging. If many seats show Unknown Side, set the rigging on your boats; see Your inventory.

Erg scores for coaches

  1. Go to Practices → Erg Scores.
  2. Under Athletes, choose the Roster: Practice attendees, Regatta attendees or Group members.
  3. Choose the practice, regatta or group.
  4. Under Filters, choose a Distance, a From and To date, and set Show to All scores or Best per athlete. Best per athlete keeps only each athlete's fastest piece per distance.

The results table can be exported to CSV.

Record a score for an athlete

  1. Choose a roster first, then pick the athlete in the Add Erg Result form.
  2. Enter the fields below and select Add Result.
Field Notes
Date The day the piece was rowed.
Distance (Meters) Total distance.
Time Hours, Minutes, Seconds and Tenths.

Note: There is no erg-score file import in the app. Scores are entered one piece at a time. For a large backlog, contact [email protected].

Your own erg history

Every member can log and review their own pieces.

  1. Go to My Profile → Erg Scores.
  2. Select Add Erg Result, fill in the same fields as above and select Add Result.

Scores you log here are the same scores coaches see in Practices → Erg Scores.

FAQ

Why is an athlete missing from Athlete Attendance? The report only covers the date range and group you chose. Widen the range or choose All Groups and select Generate Report again.

Can athletes see each other's erg scores? No. Athletes see their own scores under My Profile → Erg Scores; the roster view is for coaches.

Can I record interval pieces? Yes. Add them under Intervals when you enter the result, using Split every and Generate Intervals or Add Interval.

Where else can I get practice data? Lineup data, including each athlete's attendance status, is included in Data export.

Can I see each athlete's attendance percentage? No. Athlete Attendance shows the number of Practices Attended in the date range, not a percentage. For each athlete's attendance status at every practice, download the Practice Lineups report from Data export.

How do I see which practices a coach worked, for payroll? On Practices → Analytics, set the Date Range to the pay period and select Generate Report. Open Coach Attendance: Practice Count is the total, and View Practices next to the coach lists each practice.
