My Profile, Preferences & Notifications

Keep your personal, emergency and additional contacts up to date, choose which emails and alerts you get, review past notifications and log your erg scores.

Who this is for: every member. Permission required: none. Everything on this page is about your own account.

Your Boathouse Connect account belongs to you, not to a club. The details you enter on My Profile are shared with every organization you belong to, so you only fill them in once. Coaches and administrators with Manage Groups can see your profile (including emergency contacts) in the organizations you belong to.

All of these pages are under My Profile in the left navigation. New to Boathouse Connect? Start with the new member guide.

Personal details

  1. Go to My Profile → My Profile.
  2. On the Basic Information tab, fill in what applies to you:
Field Notes
First Name, Last Name Shown on rosters, lineups and messages.
USRowing Membership Number Used for compliance checks. See USRowing & SafeSport compliance.
T-shirt Size, Height, Weight (lbs), Birthday Used by coaches and for club gear.

  1. Click Save Changes.

If your club has added its own questions, they appear under Custom Profile Questions on the same tab. Your answer saves as soon as you change it.

To change your photo, use the Profile Picture tab.

Contact info and additional contacts

On the Contact Info tab:

  • Phone Number, and the I want to receive text messages from my rowing club option. Leave it off if you do not want texts.
  • Email (used for login): the address you sign in with and receive email at.
  • Additional Contacts: click Add Additional Contact, enter another email address or phone number and click Save. Additional contacts receive the Boathouse Connect messages sent to you. This is the usual way to copy a parent on everything a junior athlete receives.

Additional contacts do not get an account and cannot sign in as you. Never share your password with a parent or teammate.

Emergency contacts

  1. On the Emergency Contacts tab, click +.
  2. Enter First Name, Last Name, Phone Number and Relationship To You.
  3. Click Save.

Add at least one. Coaches rely on these when something goes wrong on the water.

Privacy

The Privacy tab has Track email opens/clicks (Yes / No). When it is No, your clubs cannot see whether you opened or clicked their emails, and you will appear as not having read future emails. Who can see your phone and email on rosters is set by each organization. See Rosters & contact visibility.

Rowing skills

Go to My Profile → Preferences and open the Lineups tab. Rate yourself in each area so coaches can build lineups:

  • Sweep Rowing - Port Side
  • Sweep Rowing - Starboard Side
  • Sculling
  • Coxing

The scale runs from Never tried it through Done it a few times, Somewhat decent and I do this well to I am a master. See The lineup builder.

FAQ

I changed my email. Do I sign in with the new one? Yes. Email (used for login) is your sign-in address. See Signing in.

My parents want copies of club emails. What should I do? Add them as additional contacts on the Contact Info tab. Your club may also add them as stakeholders. See Stakeholders (parents & guardians).

I belong to two clubs. Do I need two profiles? No. You have one account and one profile, shared with every organization you belong to.

I turned off an email but still receive club messages. Preferences cover automated emails. Messages your coaches send are separate. Use the text-message option on Contact Info to stop texts.

Where are my External IDs? Under My Profile → External Ids. See Importing members.

How do I delete my Boathouse Connect account? There is no delete button in Boathouse Connect. To leave a club, ask an administrator to remove you from the organization; your account stays, but it no longer belongs to that club. To have the account itself deleted, email [email protected].

Can't find what you need? Email [email protected].
