Signing in

Sign in, reset a forgotten password, set your first password after your club creates your account, and switch between clubs.

Who this is for: everyone with a Boathouse Connect account, and administrators helping members get in. Permission required: none. Administrators who invite people need Add User to Organization (pre-authorized emails) or Manage Organization Settings (Org Settings → Upload Users).

Every Boathouse Connect account belongs to one person and is identified by an email address and a password. There is no club login: your organization is a space your account belongs to, and you sign in as yourself even if you run the club. If you do not have an account yet, follow the New member guide.

  1. Go to the Login page (/home/login).
  2. Enter your Email and Password.
  3. Click Log In. You land on your Dashboard.

Click the eye icon next to the password field to show what you typed.

Email address rules

  • Your email address is not case-sensitive, and spaces before or after it are ignored. [email protected] and [email protected] sign in to the same account.
  • Your password is case-sensitive and must match exactly.
  • Each email address can belong to only one account.

Your login email is the Email (used for login) field under My Profile → Contact Info. Changing it there changes the address you sign in with. If another account already uses that address you will see Email already exists, cannot update! and the old address is kept.

Reset a forgotten password

  1. On the Login page, click Forgot password?.
  2. In Recover Password, enter the email address you sign in with and click Reset.
  3. Open the password reset email from Boathouse Connect and click Reset your password.
  4. On the Reset Password page, enter a New Password and type it again in Confirm New Password.
  5. Click Save new password. You are signed in, or returned to the Login page to sign in with your new password.

Password requirements: at least 8 characters, and no spaces at the start or end.

What you see after clicking Reset What to do
We sent a password reset link to… Check your inbox and your spam or junk folder. It can take a few minutes.
We couldn't find an account that uses … to log in. Check the spelling, or try another address you may have registered with.
We were unable to send a password reset email… Wait a few minutes and try again, or contact support.

Reset links expire and are single-use. A link stops working once it has been used to set a password, or after 48 hours. If you request another reset within a day, the same link is sent again; after that a new link replaces the old one, so always use the most recent email.

Set your first password

Some clubs create accounts for their members instead of asking each person to register.

If your club created your account

When an administrator imports members through Org Settings → Upload Users, Boathouse Connect creates an account for each new person and emails them a Set your password link. Your club has already filled in some of your details.

  1. Open the email and click Set your password.
  2. On the Create Password page, enter a New Password and Confirm New Password.
  3. Click Save new password, then sign in if you are asked to, and finish your profile.

If the link has expired, use Forgot password? on the Login page with the same email address. It does the same job. Administrators can also click Resend Invite Link next to the person on the Upload Users page. See Importing members.

If your club pre-authorized your email

A pre-authorization does not create an account or send an email. It tells Boathouse Connect to add you to the organization as soon as an account with that email address exists.

  1. On the Login page, click Sign Up and create your account with the exact email address your club pre-authorized.
  2. Sign in. The organization is already in your account.

Administrators manage the list from the Pending Join Requests widget on the Dashboard (View All Pre-authorized Emails). See Join requests.

Belonging to several clubs

Use one account for every organization you belong to. Do not register a second account for a second club.

When you belong to more than one organization, a switch organizations icon appears in the top bar next to your notifications. Click it to see which organization is Current and pick another. Groups, practices, messages and finances all switch to the organization you chose; your profile and preferences stay the same.

To add another club, use the Organization Finder on your Dashboard as described in the New member guide.

FAQ

Is there a shared login for our club's board or coaches? No. Each person signs in with their own account, and their access comes from the groups they are in. See Roles & permissions.

My reset link says it is no longer valid. It was already used, or a newer reset email replaced it. Request a new link and use only the most recent email.

I never received the reset or set-password email. Check spam and junk folders and that you typed the address you registered with. See Not receiving emails or texts?.

I signed in but cannot see my club. If you belong to several organizations, pick the right one with the switch organizations icon. If your club is not listed, you have not been added yet; ask the club or send a join request.

Can I sign in to the mobile app with the same account? Yes. Use the same email address and password. See The mobile app.

I can no longer access the email address on my account. If you can still sign in, change it under My Profile → Contact Info. If you cannot, email [email protected].

Can an administrator reset a member's password? No. Administrators cannot see or set anyone's password. The member resets it themselves with Forgot password? on the Login page. If your club created the account with Upload Users and the member never set a password, an administrator can click Resend Invite Link next to them on the Upload Users page. [email protected] can also send a member a reset email.

Can't find what you need? Email [email protected].
